Dr. Rich Barbuto examines the early military career of Winfield Scott, who became well known for his vanity, tempuer, and caustic tongue. In March 1814, he trained U.S. troops on the Niagara River in preparation for an invasion of Canada.  With remarkable efficiency, he created a formiddable fighting force that was able to defeat the veteran British troops.
