2020 Summer Reading Program

Readers of all ages participated in the Library’s annual Summer Reading Program in June and July. All activities were free of charge and geared toward all ages, preschool through adult.

This year’s theme, “Imagine Your Story,” celebrated storytelling through fairy tales, folk tales and myths. Patrons were invited to take a “once upon a time” journey through classic tales and film versions of beloved stories, discover new favorites with modern characters and explore new ideas from long ago and far away.

Children and teens earned books for reaching specific reading goals, while adults earned prizes for attending online programs and participating in a book/movie/music review challenge. This year, all reading activities were logged online. Children and Teens used an app called ReaderZone. Adults used an online form.

Once Upon a Time Virtual Escape Room
This online, just-for-fun activity was for all ages, but recommended for 10 and older.

In addition to reading challenges, the library offered a number of special events for all ages during the program in June and July. This year, due to Covid-19, all events were online. Check the Library’s Online Programs page to access archives of the presentations.
