Researching Your Home and the People Who Lived There
October 25, 2018 –
Jahn Room
Researching a property-whether an old home, a new business or a section of pastureland-can help us build a human connection to the people who came before us and the history they experienced.
This presentation leads participants through the process of how to examine land data and historic maps, and navigate through county registers of deeds, historical societies and other defenders of local history. Presented by Diana Staresinic-Deane, executive director of the Franklin County Historical Society and the Old Depot Museum in Ottawa, Kansas.
