Meeting Rooms

Book a room free of admission or other charges at your public library. Begin the reservation process by clicking the button above and selecting By Day or By Room. The meeting rooms may be booked no more than ninety (90) days in advance. If you have questions, please contact the Reference Desk at 913-682-5666 ext. 2100 or [email protected].

The rooms must be returned to original order after use:

  • Clean chairs and tables with disinfectant wipes provided by the library
  • Return chairs to original setup
  • Place tables against the walls
  • Dispose of all trash
  • If doing crafts or serving food, table covers are required; Library table covers are available upon request. Table covers must be wiped clean, taken off the tables, folded and stacked together on one of the chairs with arms (Jahn Room) or the counter in the East Room.

Expected attendance cannot exceed capacity of room:

  • Jahn Room: capacity 75
  • East Room: capacity 45
  • Board Room: capacity 12; only available 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday

Meeting Room Policy Excerpts:

  • All meetings shall be open to the public and free of admission or other charges.
  • Library programs or those co-sponsored by the library take precedence over meetings for outside groups.
  • Commercial purposes or fundraising activities are not permitted. Commercial use includes, but is not limited to, bazaars, sales and programs designed to promote the purchase of products or services.
  • Invitation-only and/or events of a strictly social nature, such as receptions, parties, showers and playgroups are not permitted.
  • Notice of cancellation is required at least 24 hours in advance of the reserved time. Failure to notify the library of a cancellation may result in the denial of future meeting room privileges.
  • Emergency exits or fire extinguishers cannot be blocked or impeded in any way.
  • Notify library staff when your meeting is over so technology and room can be secured.
  • Failure to properly return the room to original order or notify library staff may result in denial of future meeting room privileges.

Meeting Room Technology

The Jahn and East rooms have the following technology for public library patrons to use:

  • Internet access
  • Television
  • Sound bar
  • Laptop computer with Word, PowerPoint, and video capabilities
  • White board
  • Podium with microphone
