The Leavenworth Public Library will launch its StoryWalk at Leavenworth Landing Park on Thursday, June 1 at 10 a.m. with the book Be You! written and Illustrated by Peter H. Reynolds. Refreshments will be served. The StoryWalk is a collaboration with Leavenworth Parks & Recreation, and sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Leavenworth.
The StoryWalk concept is a fun, interactive way for readers of all ages to enjoy a story and the outdoors at the same time. Reynold’s book, published by Scholastic, is “a joyful reminder of the ways that every child is unique and special.” The author reminds the reader to “be your own work of art. To be patient, persistent, and true. Because there is one, and only one, YOU.”
Readers can stroll through the park to read the pages of the book, which will be attached to the fencing. There is a QR code on the last page that takes readers to a survey, where participants are encouraged to leave impressions of the StoryWalk experience.
