Interlibrary Loan Technician

The Leavenworth Public Library needs an energetic, organized Interlibrary Loan Technician. Primary responsibilities are:

  • processing, receiving and sending interlibrary loan items
  • preparing statistical reports
  • resolving overdue/lost materials with lending libraries
  • serving as a backup for handling Koha (consortium) material lending

Position requires frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs., bending, stooping and other physical activity. High school diploma required, two years of higher education is preferred. One year of previous library or customer service work is required. Computer skills include proficiency in Internet, Outlook, Microsoft Office. Familiarity with the public client of an Integrated Library System (ILS) is preferred. Proficiency with office equipment, such as copier, printer, fax, and telephone.

Hours and Compensation: 20 hours per week, non-exempt position. Starting $16.00 per hour. Health/dental/vision benefits available, paid vacation and sick leave.

Patron Experience Assistant

The Leavenworth Public Library seeks cheerful, service oriented candidates for a Patron Experience Assistant position. Essential duties include

  • managing patron records
  • circulating materials
  • answering calls
  • filing and shelving materials
  • handling payments

Employee is supervised by the Assistant Director with daily oversight and guidance from the Patron Experience Coordinator. Required skills include working knowledge of computer software, office equipment and electronic data processing in a Windows-based environment such as Microsoft Word and Excel. Working knowledge of modern office practices and procedures. High school degree or GED required. Experience providing accurate and effective public service in a high traffic environment is a must. Non-exempt, 21 hour-per-week position with paid vacation, sick leave and holidays, health, dental and vision benefits available. Starting rate $15.00 per hour.
